This blog reflects my personal views and not the views of the Peace Corps. This is for the cross-cultural enjoyment of my friends and family.

The Beginning

So I'm going to try this whole blog thing as an attempt to be somewhat reliable in keeping in touch with people during my time in the Peace Corps. A lot of Volunteers keep blogs to update family/friends when they aren't able to write emails or letters.

I am leaving, as many of you know, to join the Peace Corps as a Volunteer in Honduras. I have a 27 month commitment ahead of me as a Water/Sanitation Volunteer. The assignment means I will most likely be living in a bigger town and then traveling outside of my site to more rural villages. I could build latrines (yum), do health communication/education, or design simple water systems. Essentially, I will get to hike around and be outside of an office for the next two years, hopefully helping people and definitely experiencing a once-in-a-lifetime adventure.

I plan on uploading pictures and posting as often as I can, but the first three weeks of training we are stationed in a town that doesn't have internet access. Therefore, stay tuned for an update!

Love,
Hannah
